Streams is becoming more than an application
Over the last several months, a lot of our work on Streams has focused on the application itself: text macros, workflows, recording, macro packs, customization, diagnostics, and the many smaller details that make automation software feel dependable instead of fragile.
More recently, our focus has expanded to something less visible, but just as important:
the infrastructure behind the product.
A downloadable application is only one part of releasing commercial software. Accounts, licenses, authentication, organization access, deployment, recovery, and future updates all need somewhere reliable to live.
That foundation is now taking shape.
Building the Cedar Harbor account platform
We've been developing the Cedar Harbor platform that will eventually support Streams customers outside of the desktop application.
Recent work includes:
- Passwordless account authentication
- Account and organization membership infrastructure
- Organization invitation handling
- Email delivery for invitations
- Product and licensing groundwork
- Billing integration work
- Deployment and server setup tooling
- Backup and migration procedures for critical configuration
- Restore verification and recovery documentation
Much of this isn't flashy, and most customers will never need to think about it.
That's exactly the point.
The goal is for the systems behind Streams to be reliable enough that using the product feels simple.
Preparing Streams for its own home
We're also working toward giving Streams a proper presence on the Cedar Harbor Studios website.
Rather than treating the account portal as the product page, the plan is for Streams to have its own public page where visitors can learn what it does, see what makes it different, and eventually download or purchase it.
Account management will remain separate and focused on the things existing customers actually need: licenses, organizations, profile information, and other account services.
That separation should make both sides considerably cleaner.
Where Streams stands
The core Streams desktop application has already come a long way.
It combines text expansion and keyboard automation with more advanced workflow capabilities, while keeping the experience approachable for people who don't want to write scripts just to automate repetitive work.
The project already includes major pieces such as:
- Text Macros
- Multi-step Workflows
- Workflow Recording
- Macro Packs
- Workspace organization
- Global hotkeys
- Built-in help documentation
- Diagnostics and activity logging
- Cedar Harbor visual branding
There's still work between here and a public release, but we're increasingly working on release infrastructure instead of proving the concept.
That's an important milestone.
Building it carefully
Cedar Harbor Studios is still small, and we're deliberately building Streams one layer at a time.
That sometimes means spending an evening on backup scripts, account routing, certificates, or deployment verification instead of something exciting enough for a screenshot.
But those pieces matter.
When Streams reaches customers, we don't just want it to be useful.
We want the entire experience around it to feel like a finished product.
